Accommodations For Out-of-City Visitors
Are you planning to visit New York City to attend Competitor Forum I? Finding economical accommodation can be a challenge. We suggest the following options for participants who are travelling on tight budget.
Please note that all arrangements for hotels and travel are the responsibility of individual participants. The event organizers are not able to recommend specific hotels nor assist you in making arrangements.
One complication of our event date, December 6th, is the annual holiday season. New York City fills to overflow with visitors in the weeks following Thanksgiving, and choice hotels are sold out far in advance.
Therefore, if you hesitate to pay $500+ per night for midtown hotels at peak season, we suggest the following alternative options:
1) Hotels at LaGuardia Airport - estimated as low as $129. Take a taxi or bus/subway transportation to the NYU campus.
2) Hotels at Newark Liberty Airport - estimated as low as $79. Take the Airport Express bus from Newark Liberty Airport to Manhattan, or a taxi.
3) Hotels in New Jersey - estimated as low as $159. Take a taxi to the NY Waterway ferry terminal at Port Imperial, which lands at the 38th Street terminal (NOTE: First departure is at 8:00 am on Saturdays). Take a taxi to NYU campus from there. Telephone NY Waterway at 800-533-3779 for further information.
Even with added costs of transportation, these options are far more economical than midtown or downtown Manhattan hotels during peak pre-holiday season.
